5 Reasons to Love Coastal Design Style

What is even Coastal Style in the first place? Coastal Style is simply any space decorated with a beachy vibe. It represents the breeziness and relaxed feel of the beach.

Coastal Style is considered one of the most popular design styles out there, which is not surprising. When it’s time to pick the next dream vacation destination, people often think of a place where is warm, they can relax, enjoy the sun, the beach, and lots of outdoor activities.

Coastal design elements are a great option if you want to create a calm, soothing, peaceful place that we all would love to come to every day. The best part? you don’t necessarily need to live by the beach or live in a tropical country, you can add beachy elements to your home at any time, no matter where you live or the season we are in. So, if you looking to bring a new design style into your home or you are still on the fence about whether you should utilize coastal design style, here are 5 reasons why you should love Coastal Design Style and definitely consider it in your next decoration project.

1) Makes you feel connected with the outdoors

Coastal Style is great at making us feel connected with nature which can have a positive effect on our health. Nature inspires us, heals us, and nurtures us. Even if you are not outdoorsy, Coastal style will still give you the relaxation and tranquility you may be looking for.

2) It creates a soothing and calming vibe

Coastal style brings the calming effects, breeziness, relaxation of the beach. The sound of the waves, the heat of the sun, the sand in your feet can help to fight off any feelings of anxiety and stress, all of that incorporated into design pieces will make you feel like you are on vacation in your home all year-round and who doesn’t want to feel like you are living on an eternal vacation? I know, I do!

3) It is versatile

One of my favorite things about Coastal style is how versatile it is. It works well with other styles like traditional, boho, farmhouse, and contemporary. There are different variations of Coastal style, but my favorite is Modern Coastal Style. You can easily give it a modern twist by keeping it simple, light & airy, adding black accents and lots of texture. You can also use traditional hues of white and navy blue as the primary palette like this beautiful, clean, sophisticated but still beachy living room design.

4) It can be Vibrant and colorful

Coastal style is mainly known for neutrals and muted hues, but it is certainly not limited to those. You can also make use of other vibrant and rich colors like coral, yellow, pink Hawaiian, etc. To mimic this airy, colorful, and inviting living room decorate with blends of blues, corals, neutrals, seaside accessories, and glass pieces.

5) Imperfections? Welcome!

You can choose furniture & decor with natural imperfections for an easy and carefree vibe. They are growing rapidly in popularity because of their unique and timeless beauty. Natural materials furniture & decor can create a great contrast in the room and are great statement pieces.

In conclusion, Coastal Style is one of my favorite design styles, and I’ve been obsessed with it. If you are designing a coastal home or just want to add a touch of the Coastal Design Style to your home, here is a Coastal Living Room Design and some of my favorite pieces for your inspiration.
