How to Style a Coffee Table
Hi everyone!
Today we are going to talk all about coffee tables. You probably have one in your home, but never know how to integrate it with the rest of the living room, am I right? You want to decorate it but never fully decide on which objects you should add. Well, I am here to give you a few tips on how to achieve the coffee table of your dreams!
1) Start with the foundation
To begin with, place a wooden board or a tray in the center. This will be the foundation for your décor, which will help bring everything else together in a cohesive way.
2) Start combining
Next, add a combination of vases, bowls, as well as a jar, for example. You can play around with shapes, textures, colors, even with the different materials! Just make sure that they complement each other so that they do not clash. You can try diverse combinations until you find the one that feels right for you.
3) Make it cozy
A nice little addition could be objects like lanterns, candles, and candleholders. There are lots of different options in the market, from wooden wick candles that add a touch of coziness since they imitate the light and sounds of a fireplace, to decorative statement candles that help build the identity of the room. No matter which you choose, I recommend that you learn how to take proper care of them, mostly when it comes to cleaning and blowing them out. This will help them last longer and keep their scent.
4) Add greenery
A key element of decoration is adding some greenery to the space. While it does not have to be a plant per se, you can put artificial or dries flowers, twig branches, dried grass, etc. You can make an arrangement and put it in one of the vases that we have talked about earlier in this post. Also, lots of people now use eucalyptus branches as décor, while also helping add a subtle scent to the room.
5) Complete the look
Finally, to complete the look of your coffee table you can add some finishing touches. Decorative objects such as spheres and orbs can amp up your decoration while keeping it classy. When it comes to picking the material of these objects, I recommend looking for those that match your overall aesthetic. For example, if you are going for a bohemian look, a silver metal sphere might clash with the rest of the décor.
Of course, you can always add on top whichever decorative objects you want, like statues or maybe a coffee table book. Find a combination that speaks to you and your overall style, and have fun experimenting with the endless possibilities that you can choose from!
