How to Decorate your Fireplace Mantel

In this new blog post, I am sharing with you my best secrets on styling your fireplace mantel. While it is often overlooked, I believe it is a great place to showcase your favorite art and add a more personalized touch to your living room.
1) Add a statement
First of all, begin at the center of the mantel. You can add there a statement object like a large piece of art, whether it is a statue or a framed picture.
2) Pick up some prints or paintings
Another possibility is choosing two sets of paintings or maybe even going for a set of stackable art. There are a lot of websites where you can buy prints of art pieces directly from the creator at a very good price. You can also add a personal detail by putting up a family portrait.
3) Add dimension
Another interesting object could be a large mirror: it is practical for last-minute touch-ups and helps reflect the light and gives off the sensation that the room is larger. This is a particularly good trick if your living room is small or maybe has a big couch that takes up a lot of visual space.
4) Bring some nature inside
You can also make a bouquet with a combination of faux greenery, a bit of dry wheatgrass, branches (eucalyptus is trendy nowadays). I would add flowers when they are in season as well. You can put this combo in a nice large vase to showcase it better. Adding some greenery always helps by bringing a spark of life to the room.
5) Make it warmer
I would also add candles and lanterns since they will help make the room feel warmer, particularly when the fireplace is not on. In my opinion, I recommend getting wooden wick candles, since they crackle and imitate the feeling of coziness that a fire has. Also, a touch of lighting always helps make the room feel more welcoming.
6) Complete the look
As a final touch, add an assortment of different metallic objects and sculptures to complete the look! Look for something that matches the rest of the art you have put up.
