1) Choose your Base Color
A base color is traditionally one of the 12 on the color wheel, these are red, red-orange, orange, yellow-orange, yellow, yellow-green, green, blue-green, blue, blue-violet, violet & red-violet.
2) Choose your color variation
There are 3 color variations:
Shades: base color darkened with black.
Tones: the base color dulled with gray.
Tints: the base color lightened with white.
3) Select your color palette
Once you determine your color variations, select preferably 3 colors to create your color palette.
4) Add Texture & Patterns
Pay attention to patterns and textures. Add a variety of different patterns and textures to avoid the room feel boring and make the space more interesting.
